The Company is pleased to announce that the Adelaide Desalination Plant Project has reached the important milestone of the successful operation of the first 50GL plant for a continuous 24 hour period.
This has resulted in the production and export of drinking water to Happy Valley and in the coming days, water produced by the plant will enter the network in the range of between five and ten million litres per day.
This amount will increase over the coming months until the first of the proposed two 50 GL plants reaches full capacity. Full 100 GL/a capacity is expected to be achieved by the end of 2012.
This milestone was realised through an intensive and collaborative interface effort between SA Water, Allwater, the TPS project, the O&M and the D&C teams. The success of this cooperation resulted in a smooth transition of the water produced into the South Australian water network.
Congratulations to the entire AdelaideAqua team on reaching this important milestone.
